About Me

...Paul Venter
I’m a proud South African born and raised, still happily living in this beautiful country.
Creativity has always been my thing I was the kid in the family constantly doodling, writing stories, and sketching blueprints for all sorts of wild ideas. My love for fine arts, creative writing, and technical drawing during school was a pretty good clue about where I was headed career-wise.
Right after school, I landed my first gig as a Graphic Designer for a newspaper in Pretoria. That experience really sharpened my design and computer skills, and I quickly realized how much I enjoyed sharing what I’d learned. That’s when I started lecturing in Media and Web Design at colleges across Gauteng.
While juggling work and teaching, I also pursued my BTech degree in Multimedia Design Technologies, which opened even more doors for me in the world of Visual Communication.
I’m a lifelong learner, always diving into new technologies and methodologies to keep my skills fresh and relevant. Right now, I’m a Visual Communication Expert with a focus on UX Design, Agile Project Management, and Education.
I absolutely love what I do, especially tackling new challenges and collaborating with others to create meaningful, user-centered solutions.
Let’s connect—I’d love to share more about my journey and hear about yours too!

My Skills Area of Expertise
UI / UX Design
I have more than 20 years of UX/UI design experience. I started off with designing multimedia interfaces for CD's, games and digital kiosks.
01
Graphic/Multimedia Design
This is where I started. Graphic design is the basis for everything I do. I studied Multimedia Design Technologies and gained a BTECH degree at TUT. My media skills include Photography, Videography and Video editing.
04
UX Research
I have over 20 years of experience in UX research, leveraging methods such as user interviews, surveys, usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and more.
02
Web Design
Since the WWW became a thing I have been designing websites with design apps, HTML, Javascript and online applications such as WordPress, Joomla and various E-commerce software.
05
Project Management (Agile)
I felt it will be wise to understand project management as it forms the basis of the work I do. I consequintly attended and completed a traditional Project Management course by Damelin. With the advent of Agile, I attended a BMW Agile Project Management course using Jira and Confluence.
07
Education
Teaching is a thing my family do. (Nearly all of them) I started lecturing early in my life and have never stopped sharing knowledge.
03
Marketing (Traditional and Online)
Marketing is part of User Experience (UX). Early on working at a newspaper, I learned about marketing and how people react to what they see or hear. With that knowledge, I have implemented online marketing campaigns.
